Victoria Whitney / North Granville Pottery Comp.
" I am a ceramic artisan living in Washington County, New York. I create functional pottery from my studio in North Granville. I sell my work at various craft fairs on both sides of the New York/Vermont border.
I began my journey in ceramics at Studio Art in Glens Falls, NY in 2005. By 2008 I wanted more wheel time, so I purchase my own pottery wheel and set up my studio at my home. In 2009 I travelled to the Netherlands and participated in a tile painting workshop at the Royal Delft Factory. In summer of 2010, I embellished Adirondack chairs with tiles painted with local landmarks in the delft style for the “Have a Seat in Glens Falls” public arts project. I established my business, The North Granville Pottery Company in 2012. From 2011-2016, I sold the majority of my work through Scotties’, a coffee and gift shop in Granville. When the store closed, I looked to other venues to sell my creations. I started retailing my work at Arts Festivals and Craft Fairs in 2017, including: the Schroon Lake Arts Festival, Saratoga Art in the Park, the Shirt Factory Holiday Open House and the Shaker Heritage Historic Site Craft Fairs. My education in ceramics continues by attending workshops. In 2018 I attended, Ceramic Science for the Artist, a Summer Workshop at Alfred University. That summer, I began working at Studio Art part time, making glazes and helping at wherever I could. I love what I do and I look forward to what I will learn and achieve in the future." 2660 County Rt. 17 Granville Participating in Countywide Tour and Trail Map; Dates & Times: July 8; 1-7pm, July 9-10; 10am-5pm Phone: (518) 744-3711
